Join us in-person or virtually for our Annual Title I Informational Meeting and BAC Meeting on Monday, October 27, 2025 from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the CICS Northtown Academy Community Room.

On October 27th, the school building is open from 2:00pm to 7:00pm and we invite all families to join us with their student for an in-person or virtual conference. Sign up ahead of time for a 10-minute conference with your student’s teachers or join us for walk-in appointments.

Get ready, Pumas—it’s almost Spirit Week!  From October 6–10, show off your school spirit by participating in the themed days which earns Puma Points for your division. The week ends with a Pep Rally on Friday and the Homecoming Dance on Saturday, October 11th from 7:00pm-10:00pm.

The safety of students, staff, and visitors is a top priority for CICS Northtown and CPS. To support this commitment CICS Northtown and CPS conducts emergency preparedness drills on an annual basis, in line with the Illinois School Safety Drill Act.. The goal of these safety drills is to improve our ability to respond in the event of an emergency in an effective and efficient manner.

Inside you will find stories straight from the halls, familiar faces, upcoming events, and features that spotlight the voices of Northtown. This is the start of something big — check it out, then get ready for more news, entertainment, and student voices coming your way.

Are you interested in learning more about CICS Northtown Academy? We are hosting 3 Open House events for future Pumas and families. We welcome current middle school students and high school students looking to transfer. Join us at CICS Northtown Academy on: Tuesday, October 7th from 4:30pm-7:00pm Saturday, October 11th from 12:00pm-2:00pm Tuesday, November 4th from 4:30pm-7:00pm

Picture Day will take place on Thursday, September 25 for all students during their English classes. While students are encouraged to dress up for their pictures, it is not required.  All clothing must follow the school’s dress code policy. 

September 16th is a mandatory attendance day from 8:00am-3:30pm for all 9th-12th graders. All 9th, 10th and 11th graders will take a full-length practice ACT through Academic Approach.  All seniors will complete post-secondary activities and enjoy their Senior BBQ.

Student safety is our top priority. When students feel safe in the building, they can focus on their growth and achievement and form strong relationships. Given the recent political climate, some of our students and families have expressed concerns about how our schools may interact with the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

NTA is partnering with the Chicago Department of Public Health and Blue Cross Blue Shield to provide a Vaccination Van at Northtown on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. Get your student up t date with their immunizations for school. It is free, safe, and effective!

We are excited to welcome your Northtown student back on Monday, August 18th for our 2025-2026 school year. 

Thank you for choosing CICS Northtown! New Student Orientation on August 5th is designed to make sure your questions are answered before the first day of school on August 18.

As I begin my 20th year in education, I am humbled and honored to be named the new Principal of CICS Northtown Academy.

As our seniors wind down their time at Northtown, we prepare for activities to provide joy and to make memories. Learn more about our end-of-the-year celebrations of our Class of 2025.

CICS Northtown Academy is administering the ACT and PreACT to students on April 8th and 10th.

All 9th, 10th and 11th graders will take a Practice ACT test to prepare for the April ACT.

We are pleased to announce that CICS Northtown Academy will reopen tomorrow morning. Doors open as early as 7:20am and classes will begin promptly at 8:00am. Students will report to their Advisory class by 8am to receive their Semester 2 schedules.
